What is a Service Partner?

Service Partners are technology providers that build tools for you to increase conversions. This includes price comparison and shopping widgets, shopping cart technologies, AI-based image recognitions and product recommendations, and other optimisation tools.

How do Service Partners work?

Service Partners work on a commission-sharing basis. When you use a Service Partner’s tool to promote an advertiser, any resulting commission is split between you and the Service Partner according to agreed terms.

Service Partners maintain relationships with both you and advertisers. Once you join, you can use the tools across the Service Partner’s advertiser base.

Service Partners track supported transactions and earned commission through the Commission Sharing Tool. For more information on commission sharing, see How does Commission Sharing work through Service Partners?

What is Commission Sharing?

Commission Sharing allows you and Service Partners to share commission from sales influenced by Service Partner tools. Predefined rules determine how commission is split.

Transactions influenced by the Service Partner's tools are automatically tracked, and both parties can view their respective commission share using the tool.

How does Commission Sharing work?

When a Service Partner creates a commission sharing policy for cooperation, you automatically become a member of the advertisers with whom the Service Partner cooperates.

Note: Both your publisher's account and the Service Partner's account must be approved onto the advertiser programme before promoting and earning commission.

Commission-Shared Tracking Links

To easily identify transactions driven by Service Partners, you must add a specific parameter (networkref2) to your Awin tracking links, which references the commission sharing rule between you and the Service Partner. The Service Partner will provide this link or your individual parameters for the link.

Example tracking links with networkref2:

  • http://www.awin1.com/awclick.php?gid=4766667547&mid=1001&awinaffid=45628&linkid=5756565445&clickref=widget2&networkref2=cs1_2738
  • http://www.awin1.com/cread.php?awinmid=1001&awinaffid=45628&clickref=facebook&networkref2=cs1_2738&ued=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.exampleadvertiser.com%2F

The total value of the commission is calculated using the commission rates agreed between the Service Partner and the advertiser, then split according to the percentage share agreed between you and the Service Partner.

Commission-Sharing Information

You can see all your generated transactions appear as regular transactions in your reports. In the Transactions Report, you also have a Service Partner icon in the commission column. To learn more about this report, see Publisher Transaction Report

In the Transaction Report export, you can view more detailed information on all of your transactions including commission-sharing transactions, which contain the Service Partner's name and account ID. The exported data includes:

  • Publisher name and ID
  • Service Partner name and ID
  • Commission share details

Aggregated Reports (such as the Publisher Performance Report), you can see:

  • Your main transactions
  • Bonus transactions recorded for the Service Partner

What is the acceptance criteria to become an Awin Service Partner?

To ensure you work only with trusted, high-quality partners, Awin assesses Service Partners through compliance checks and individual evaluation of their solution, performance, and potential. This means you are only presented with best-in-class Service Partners and the peace of mind that comes with a reliable solution.

How to find Awin Service Partners

You can browse Awin Service Partners in the Service Partner Directory under Toolbox.

To collaborate with a Service Partner, click their logo to open their profile, then select Apply to this Service Partner. This opens your email so you can introduce yourself and establish collaboration terms, such as the commission-share percentage.

Once agreed, the Service Partner will set up the commission-sharing rule for your partnership.

Why can’t I see anything in the Service Partner Directory?

If the Service Partner Directory appears empty, this is usually due to eligibility criteria.

Note: You must have at least one active partnership to view Service Partners in the Directory.

The directory only displays Service Partners that match your account’s primary region and have chosen to be visible.

Service Partners are currently available in the following primary regions:

  • United Kingdom
  • France
  • Germany
  • Netherlands
  • Spain
  • Italy
