Does Awin have data feeds?

Product data feeds are files containing an advertiser's product information. Typically, a product data feed contains product names, descriptions, prices, images, and deep links. For more details, see How to access a product data feed.

This article addresses the most common questions about product data feeds and outlines the steps you can take to use them succesfully.

Who are product data feeds for?

Any Awin publisher can access product data feeds, but they are used mainly by the following publisher types:

  • Comparison sites for price and feature comparisons
  • Shopping portals to display a variety of products
  • Review sites linking to detailed product pages
  • Daily deal platforms promoting time-sensitive offers

How can I access product data feeds?

You can access data feeds through the Awin platform. For details, see How to access a product data feed.

Can I configure my product data feed?

Yes, using Awin's Create-a-Feed tool you can configure product data feeds based on the following:

  • Advertiser categories
  • Specific advertisers
  • Specific brands

For more details on using Create-a-Feed, see How to access a product data feed.

Why can't I find an advertiser in the data feed list?

If you have an active partnership and the advertiser offers a data feed but isn't listed:

  1. Go to Toolbox > Create-a-feed
  2. In the 'Select Feed Language' menu, set the language to >Any

If the issue continues:

  1. Go to Advertisers > My Programmes
  2. Check the Product Feed column to confirm if the advertiser offers a feed ('Yes' or 'No')

Note: If an advertiser is listed as offering a feed but it's unavailable, contact the advertiser or the account manager to request the feed. For more details, see How can I contact an advertiser?

How can I integrate a data feed into my website?

Integrating a data feed requires programming knowledge or a plugin. For details, see How to access a product data feed.

Note: Awin doesn't provide technical support for integrating data feeds.

How can I ensure I'm seeing the most recent product data feed information?

Advertisers often update feeds multiple times a day. To access the most recent version of a product data feed, log in to the Awin platform and complete the following steps:

Method 1

  1. Go to Toolbox > Create-a-feed
  2. In the 'Advertisers' section, click Select Advertisers
  3. View the 'Last Update' column

Method 2

  1. Go to Toolbox > Create-a-Feed
  2. Under 'Feed List Download', copy the download URL
  3. To download a compressed feed list (.csv format), paste the URL into your browser

To download an uncompressed file:

  1. Copy the download URL
  2. Replace zip or gzip with none in the URL
  3. Paste the updated URL into your browser

The download contains the most recent data available. For more information, see How to access a product data feed.

Are there limits to product data feed downloads?

Yes. To maintain the quality and integrity of the product data feed system, Awin has limits on simultaneous download requests:

  • Up to 5 concurrent download requests.
  • Up to 5 duplicate download requests within 1 hour.

How can I automate the feed download process?

To create a reusable download link, log in to the Awin platform and complete the following steps:

  1. Go to Toolbox > Create-a-Feed
  2. Select one or more advertisers
  3. Click Download

How often is the WordPress data feed plugin updated?

The plugin is updated as needed. Ensure you're using version 3.5 or higher.

Note: The plugin doesn't automatically update feeds, so you must manually upload the files. For more information, visit the WordPress help centre.

How can I access missing information from a data feed?

If specific information you need is missing from a data feed, contact the advertiser or account manager. For more details, see How can I contact an advertiser?

What if a brand is missing from the brand filter?

Brands need to be added to the system to appear in the filter. If a brand is missing, contact the Partner Success team using the link at the bottom of this page.

Why can't I select certain columns?

Column availability depends on the advertiser and their defined feed verticals.

What do I do if a deep link doesn't lead to the product page?

Contact the Partner Success team using the link at the bottom of this page.

Can I get Google data feeds from the Awin platform?

If an advertiser chooses to provide data feeds in the Google Shopping format, the feeds display under the heading 'Enhanced Feeds'.

You can access Enhanced Feeds in the following ways:

  1. Create-a-Feed

Log in to the Awin platform and go to Toolbox > Links & Tools > Create-a-Feed. The advertiser selector shows which retail advertisers provide data feeds in the Google Shopping format.

  1. Product Feed List Download

Download a list of retail data feeds in the Google Shopping format. For more details, see Product Feed List Download.

  1. Publisher Product API

Use the Publisher Product API to retrieve Google Shopping data feeds for your partnerships. For technical instructions, see New Enhanced Google Feeds FAQ.

Why am I receiving an error when I try to use the API to access a feed?

If you're encountering an error while attempting to access feeds through the API, this is likely because the feature is only available for Enhanced Feeds. The API does not support Legacy Feeds. Please ensure that the data feed you're trying to access is in the Enhanced Feed format.

For more information on product data feeds, see New Enhanced Google Feeds FAQ.
