What are single-use vouchers/discount codes?
A unique or single-use discount code sets itself apart from general codes in that it can only be redeemed once and only by the specific individual/customer to whom it was sent.
What are the benefits of a single-use voucher code?
- Prevents voucher "leaking": Unique codes are exclusive to the publisher for whom they are generated, and other publishers cannot promote them. This allows advertisers and publishers to control how the voucher codes are to be distributed.
- Improves shopping experience: Publishers can provide their customers with customised shopping experiences that are unlocked by single-use codes. This gives the publisher a competitive advantage as they are offered exclusivity and can increase their conversions.
How do I get single-use voucher codes?
Similar to generic voucher codes, single-use voucher codes are provided by advertisers. Nonetheless, the advertisers must have a specific setup that enables the creation of single-use codes for this to properly function, such as voucher attribution tracking.
Advertisers can set up the voucher code with the publisher's prefix followed by a wildcard [*], which will automatically assign all transactions with that prefix to the publisher. The prefix is a static part of the code that publishers always use for the coupon codes they offer to their users, e.g. AB123, AB234, AB345, AB...
Please note that publishers
must also be able to process dynamic single-use voucher codes. Major discount code publishers are usually able to issue single-use codes programmatically.
To request single-use voucher codes, please contact the advertiser directly. Feel free to read the following article on how:

What are some alternatives to single-use voucher codes?
- Exclusive (non-single-use) referral/ discount code: If you cannot process single-use voucher codes, you can still request a referral code that is unique to you. This is a common method of promotion for influencers or content creators, where the referral code that contains a discount for a specific advertiser can be shared with their followers. Please refer to the following article for more information: What is Voucher Attribution?
- Generic discount codes: General codes that can be used by all publishers who have been accepted to the advertiser programmes. See the article for more information: How do I find an advertiser's offers/ vouchers?
