Awin uses a traffic light system to represent advertisers' payment status, giving you a quick and easy way to assess their financial standing.
To view an advertiser’s payment status as a traffic light symbol, log in to the Awin platform and follow these steps:
- Go to Advertisers
- Under ‘Payment Status’ a coloured circle represents the advertiser’s payment status
- For a brief description of the advertiser’s payment status, hover over the traffic light symbol
To filter advertisers by payment status:
- Go to Advertisers > Join Programmes
- In the left column under ‘Payment Status’, select the traffic light colour(s) you want to filter by
Traffic light meanings
The traffic light system works as follows:
Green
- The advertiser is within their credit limit.
- Approved commissions are paid to publishers in their next payment.
- Green status advertisers offer accelerated payments.
For more information on Awin’s top performing advertisers, see What is Awin Gold Standard for Advertisers?
Amber
- The advertiser has exceeded their payment or credit limit.
- Commissions are paid to publishers only after the advertiser has paid Awin.
- Amber advertisers are also given an ‘Exposure Level’ rating to alert you of potential payment delays.
Types of Exposure Levels
There are 4 Exposure Levels, each offering further insight into the payment practices of Amber-rated advertisers:
- Exposure Level 1: Low-risk advertisers who pay through Direct Debit but have exceeded their credit insurance limits.
- Exposure Level 2: Medium-risk advertisers who have exceeded their credit insurance limits.
- Exposure Level 3: Medium-risk advertisers within their credit insurance limit but with overdue invoices.
- Exposure Level 4: High-risk advertisers who have exceeded their credit insurance limit and have overdue invoices.
Exposure Levels are assigned based on the following factors:
- Payment type: Advertisers paying through Direct Debit are more likely to pay on time.
- Existing invoices: Overdue invoices indicate a higher risk of payment delays.
- Credit limits: Advertisers within their credit insurance limits present a lower risk of payment delays.
Red
- Used in cases of bankruptcy or excessive credit levels.
- Awin pays publishers only when all outstanding invoices have been settled.
Important: Awin strongly recommends that publishers do not promote advertisers with red payment status or level 4 Exposure Level.
