Convert-a-Link automatically converts regular product links on your website into affiliate links containing your unique tracking code. This allows you to earn commission when users click and make a purchase.
Activating Convert-a-Link
To activate Convert-a-Link, you must install Awin's Publisher MasterTag. For details, see How do I install convert-a-link?
Supported link types
Convert-a-Link converts any type of anchor link, including:
- Deep links
- Product links
- Image links
How to exclude specific links from Convert-a-Link
To prevent specific links from being converted to affiliate links, add the 'data-awinignore' attribute. For example:
<a href="https://www.test.com/tablet-accessories/ipad-sleeve-red/106.html" data-awinignore>iPad Sleeve - Red</a>
Adding a click reference value
You can add a custom click reference value using the ‘data-clickref’ attribute. This helps you track individual links. For example:
<a href="https://exampleadvertiser.com/" data-clickref="exampleclickreference">Destination URL</a>
Custom click references are compatible with Convert-a-Link and can be used to track specific transactions in the Click References Report. For more details on click references, see What is click reference and what can I use this for?
Viewing transactions generated by Convert-a-Link
You can track transactions from Convert-a-Link through the Click References Report. These transactions are automatically labeled with ‘Convert-a-Link' in the click reference field.
Automatic programme applications
If you use Convert-a-Link on a link associated with a programme you haven't joined yet, Convert-a-Link automatically sends an application to the advertiser when the link is used.
