The Publisher MasterTag is a JavaScript tag you install on your website. It helps Awin track your affiliate sales accurately, improve your visibility in AI-powered search results, and gives you access to a suite of plugins that can boost your conversions.

Who needs the Publisher MasterTag?
Any publisher with a website. If you have affiliate links on pages you own, the Publisher MasterTag ensures those links are tracked reliably and that your content is eligible for AI search visibility tracking.
What it does
The Publisher MasterTag delivers three core benefits:
- AI search visibility: Awin tracks clicks on citation links generated by AI search engines, attributing AI search-led sales to your account.
- Accurate tracking: Automatically includes referral URLs in your Awin tracking links to reduce the risk of missed or misattributed transactions.
- Plugin access: Once installed, you activate optional plugins from within the platform to further boost performance.

How to install the Publisher MasterTag

Step 1: Copy the script
- In the platform, navigate to Toolbox > Publisher MasterTag.
- Copy the JavaScript code shown under “Add Javascript”. It should look like the following:

Make sure to replace PublisherID with your own publisher ID. To locate this, see Where can I find my Publisher ID?
Step 2: Add the script to your website
Paste the script into each web page containing affiliate links. Place it at the very bottom of the page body, immediately before the closing </body> tag.

Step 3: Test the installation
Use either method below to confirm the Publisher MasterTag is installed and loading correctly.
Browser inspector
- Open your website in Chrome and press F12 to open the browser inspector.
- Go to the Network tab and refresh the page.
- Type
dwin in the filter box. - Confirm the Publisher MasterTag loads with your publisher ID.
Page source
- On your website, press Ctrl + U to open the page source.
- Confirm the Publisher MasterTag script appears immediately before the closing
</body> tag.
Note: The browser inspector confirms the Publisher MasterTag loads; the page source confirms correct placement.
Step 4: Activate a plugin
In the platform, go to Toolbox > Publisher MasterTag, and select a plugin and toggle its switch to the right until it turns green.
